Website Editor: Publishing, Republishing & Page Access

Common website editor questions: where the Publish/Republish button is, and how (and whether) you can restrict a page so customers must log in.

Where is the Republish button in the website editor?

The Republish button only appears once your site has already been published. Before your first publish, the top-right button says Publish instead.

  • Click Publish once to publish your site. After that, the button becomes Republish and you use it to push future updates live.

  • If you don’t see either button, it’s usually a browser issue: use an up-to-date Chrome or Safari (avoid beta versions), disable browser extensions, and make sure JavaScript is enabled. You can also publish with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + P.

Can I restrict a page so customers have to log in to view it?

Not with a per-customer login. In a page’s settings (the gear icon next to the page → Set Access), the only options are:

  • Open to everyone

  • Password protected — a single shared password for that page, not individual customer logins

There is currently no “members only” option that requires each customer to log into their account to view a page. If you need to gate a page, use Password protected and share the password with the intended audience.

Good to know: password-protected pages aren’t accessible to search crawlers, and if someone opens the page and shares a direct link to a file or image on it, that link can still be viewed.

How do I move my blog to a different spot in the menu (e.g., under About Us)?

Your blog is a page in the site editor. To change where it appears in navigation, open the editor’s page menu and drag the blog page into the dropdown/folder where you want it (for example, under About Us). If you’d like help placing it, contact [email protected].
