Website SEO Settings (Site-Level)

Set your site's overall SEO — meta title, description, indexing, sitemap, and how page-level SEO overrides it.

Search engine optimization (SEO) helps your site show up in unpaid (“organic”) search results. Filling in your site’s SEO fields helps search engines understand what your site is about.

Set your site-level SEO

In the editor’s left panel, click Settings → SEO. You can set:

  • Site meta title — the headline search engines show for your site. Keep it to ~60 characters and include key terms (e.g., your winery name and location).

  • Site meta description — the short summary shown under the title in results. Keep it to ~160 characters and make it compelling.

  • No index (entire site) — turn this on only if you want to keep your whole site out of search results.

  • Custom sitemap / robots.txt — Corksy generates these automatically; you can upload your own if you have a specific need.

  • Keywords — optional; major search engines no longer use them for ranking.

Page-level SEO takes priority

Each page can have its own title and description, which override the site-level settings. Best practice: give every important page a unique title and description — see Single Page Management.

Good to know

  • SEO changes can take several weeks for Google to reflect. You can speed this up by adding your site to Google Search Console and requesting a crawl.

  • Under Settings → SEO, enabling Lazy loading improves page speed by loading images and widgets as visitors scroll.
