Creating an Experience in Reservations V2
Last updated: October 1, 2026
An experience is anything a guest can book: a tasting, tour, dinner, concert or private event. This article walks through every section of the experience form.
1. Basic details
Go to Reservations > Experiences and click Create Experience.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | What guests see, e.g. "Reserve Flight" |
| SKU | Used in reporting |
| Short description | Shows on the listing card |
| Long description | Shows on the experience detail page |
| Duration | How long the experience lasts |
| Minimum / maximum party size | Limits per booking |
| Reservation type | The category you created in Reservation Settings |
| Color | Marks this experience in the Daily Reservations view so staff can tell tastings, tours and events apart |
| Images | Upload at least one good landscape photo |
2. Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Not bookable and can't have timeslots |
| Active | Bookable through the sales channels you choose, and available in the timeslot builder |
| Archived | Hidden from guests but kept for history and reporting |
Retiring an experience? Archive it instead of deleting it, especially if it has upcoming or past bookings.
Testing a new experience? Once it has timeslots, an Active experience with Online Store ticked can be booked on any public page of your website that has the Reservations V2 widget. Keep the widget on a page that's hidden from your navigation while you test.
3. Sales channels
Choose where the experience can be booked:
- Online Store: guests can book through your website widget
- POS: staff can book it from the Corksy POS
- Both
Staff can always book any experience for a guest from the admin portal.
Most common setup mistake: if an experience isn't showing on your website, check that Online Store is ticked. POS alone keeps it off the website.
4. Ticket options and pricing
Add one ticket option for each type of guest. Example:
| Ticket | Public price | Member price |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | $45 | $35 |
| Child | $15 | $15 |
| Designated Driver | $10 | $10 |
- $0 tickets are allowed, so you can offer complimentary tastings.
- Ticket options share the experience's capacity.
Member pricing
For each ticket you can set:
- A member price
- Which clubs are eligible
- A maximum quantity per member
Member pricing is applied when the guest signs in to their customer account during checkout. A member who checks out as a guest without signing in pays the public price, and a prompt at checkout invites them to log in for the member price. Let your members know to sign in when they book.
On a member's reservation, the member rate shows as a Club Member Discount line. This line is how the member price is applied, so it can't be removed on its own. If a member brings friends, keep it as one booking. The member price applies up to the ticket's maximum quantity per member, and the other guests pay the public price.
5. Upsells (add-ons)
Choose products from your Corksy catalog, such as cheese boards, bottle pairings or merchandise. Guests see them in the Add to Your Experience step. Upsells appear on the reservation, in confirmation emails, the daily view and reports, and they follow your normal product inventory.
6. Booking rules
| Rule | What it does |
|---|---|
| Booking cutoff | How close to start time guests can still book online |
| Advance booking window | How far ahead guests can book (for example, 90 days) |
| Liability waiver | Shows a waiver label on the experience. Guests don't sign anything online. |
| Age verification | Shows a 21+ label on the experience. Guests aren't asked to confirm anything online. |
| Experience blackouts | Blocks dates for this experience only |
| Internal notes | Staff-only notes about the experience |
The advance window and your timeslots work together. If you allow booking 360 days ahead but your recurring timeslots end in 30 days, guests only see 30 days.
7. Tax
Reservations V2 calculates tax per line item:
- Tickets and fees use your reservation tax settings.
- Upsell products use each product's own tax setting, so non-taxable products stay non-taxable.
Need an experience to be tax-free (for example, a tour sold outside your state)? A Tax Free option is rolling out and may not appear in your account yet. Upsell products always use their own tax setting.
8. Managing your list
- Copy an existing experience to build a similar one quickly.
- Reorder experiences to control the order they appear on your website.
