Shipping an Order in More Than One Box

Last updated: October 2, 2026

When an order doesn't fit in a single box, for example 18 bottles, or a mix of 750 ml bottles and magnums, you can ship it in several boxes. Each box gets its own shipping label, bought from the same order.

Before you start

  • Your UPS, USPS or FedEx carrier account is connected in Corksy.

  • The boxes you use are set up under Settings → Shipping & Delivery → Shipping Packages, each with its weight. See Creating Shipping Packages.

Buy a label for each box

  1. Go to the Orders tab and open the order.

  2. Click Create carrier postage directly.

  3. Choose the box for the first package and select the items that go in that box.

  4. Choose the shipping service, ship date and label size, then click Buy shipping label.

  5. Back on the same order, click Create carrier postage directly again for the next box. Choose that box, select the remaining items that go in it, and buy its label.

  6. Repeat until every item on the order is in a box with a label.

Each label has its own tracking number on the order.

Good to know

  • Packing slips: a packing slip currently lists every item on the order, not only the items in one box. If you're splitting an order across boxes, use the items you selected for each label to pack each box.

  • Shipping charged at checkout: the shipping the customer paid is calculated on the order's total weight, not on how it's split into boxes. Buying several labels can cost more than the customer paid for shipping.

  • Shipping service: Corksy shows the service the customer chose and paid for. If you pick a different service for a label, the carrier charges you that rate.
