Troubleshooting Zebra Label Printing

On this Page

Browser Print Issues (Start Here)

Most Zebra printing problems in Corksy are caused by Browser Print, not the printer itself or OS drivers. Check these first.

"Browser Print is not installed or not running"

This error means Corksy cannot reach the Browser Print application. Browser Print must be running in the background at all times for printing to work.

  • Check your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) for the Browser Print icon

  • If it's not there, relaunch the Zebra Browser Print application

  • Refresh Corksy in your browser and try printing again

  • If it still fails, restart your computer, relaunch Browser Print, then open Corksy

Printer was working before, now Corksy can't find it

If your printer worked previously and suddenly stopped being detected, Corksy has likely been removed from Browser Print's accepted hosts list. This commonly happens after reinstalling Browser Print, setting up a new computer, or a major OS update.

Fix:

  1. Open Zebra Browser Print and go to Settings

  2. Find the Allowed Hosts (or Accepted Hosts) section

  3. Add admin.corksy.io if it's not already listed

  4. Save and reload Corksy

ZPL Code Printing Instead of a Label

If your printer outputs pages of text or code instead of a label, this is a model or format mismatch.

  • Check the model selected in Corksy. Confirm the Zebra model in your Corksy label settings matches your actual printer exactly. Selecting the wrong model sends incompatible ZPL formatting that the printer renders as raw text.

  • UPS-branded Zebra printers (ZP450, ZP230). These models are configured for UPS shipping software and do not reliably process Corksy's ZPL output, especially when UPS software is also installed on the same machine. If you are seeing code output on a ZP450 or ZP230, contact [email protected] — these models may require replacement with a general-purpose Zebra printer for full Corksy compatibility.

Troubleshooting Zebra Printer on macOS

If Browser Print is running, Corksy can detect your printer, but labels still won't print, try these OS-level steps:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Confirm the printer is powered on

  • If connected via USB, try using a different USB port or cable

  • If connected via network, ensure the printer is on the correct Wi-Fi network

2. Install Zebra Printer Drivers

  • Visit the Zebra Printer Drivers page

  • Locate your printer model and download the Mac-compatible driver

  • Install the driver and restart your computer

3. Add the Printer to Your Mac

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners

  • Click the + icon to add a new printer

  • Select your Zebra printer from the list and follow the prompts

4. Update macOS

  • Navigate to System Settings > General > Software Update

  • Install any available updates and restart your Mac

5. Reset the Printing System (last resort)

  • Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners

  • Right-click (or Control-click) the printer list and choose Reset Printing System

  • Re-add your Zebra printer using the steps above

  • After reinstalling, remember to re-add admin.corksy.io as an accepted host in Browser Print

Troubleshooting Zebra Printer on Windows

If Browser Print is running, Corksy can detect your printer, but labels still won't print, try these OS-level steps:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Make sure the printer is powered on

  • If using USB, test a different USB port or cable

  • If on a network, verify the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi or Ethernet

2. Install Zebra Printer Drivers

  • Visit the Zebra Printer Drivers page

  • Choose your printer model and download the appropriate Windows driver

  • Install the driver and restart your computer

3. Add the Printer to Your Windows Device

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers

  • Click Add a Printer

  • Follow the wizard to detect and install the Zebra printer

4. Update Windows

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update

  • Check for updates and install all available patches

  • Restart your computer after updating
