General & Troubleshooting FAQ

Quick answers to common Corksy questions — login issues, shipping rate display, events not showing online, staff accounts, and more.

I can’t log into the Corksy admin portal. What should I check?

  • Make sure you’re using the email tied to your admin account — often the Store Contact Email under Settings → Store Information.

  • The “Forgot password” link only works for the primary account holder. If you’re the account holder, use it on the login page and follow the reset email. If you’re any other admin user, it will say “account not found” — that’s expected, not a bug.

  • Locked out and you’re not the account holder? You can’t reset your own admin password. Ask your winery’s Corksy account holder (the person who set up Corksy) to reset it for you via Settings → Admin Users → edit your user → set a new password. See Updating Passwords.

  • If the portal is slow or spinning (rather than rejecting your login), it’s usually a browser issue — try an up-to-date Chrome/Safari, disable extensions, and confirm JavaScript is on.

  • If the account holder is the one locked out, email [email protected] (support verifies identity before resetting the primary account).

Note: customer/website login is separate. For a customer who can’t log in, have them use the storefront Forgot password link, or reset it from the admin under Customers → open the profile → Actions → Change Password.

Can I change the order that shipping rates appear at checkout or on POS?

No. The order in which shipping options appear can’t be manually set — there is currently no display-order setting in admin or POS. Live carrier rates also appear alongside your custom rates and currently can’t be hidden from POS specifically. If unexpectedly low amounts are showing, they are usually live carrier rates rather than your configured custom rates. Contact [email protected] if your configured rates aren’t appearing as expected.

I created an event/reservation but it’s not showing on my website. Why?

Events created under Reservations publish to your site automatically as long as everything below is true. Check, in order:

  1. The package Status is Active (not archived).

  2. You saved after completing the Booking Settings.

  3. Today’s date falls within the package’s schedule / “available on” window.

If all three are correct and it still doesn’t appear, contact [email protected] with the package name and event date.

Adding, deactivating, and reactivating staff accounts

Corksy has two separate kinds of staff accounts, managed in different places.

Admin portal users — go to Settings → Admin Users → Users. Click Create User and assign a role to add one. To deactivate or remove someone, find them in the list and delete them or set them inactive. You only see the Admin Users area if your role includes user management — if it’s missing, sign in as the account owner (the person who originally set up Corksy) to make the change or grant your role that permission.

POS users — go to Settings → Point of Sale → POS Users, then Create User (also labeled Add User). POS users sign in on the terminal with a 4-digit PIN — they don’t use an email, username, or password, and they can’t reach the admin portal. To edit someone (including changing or resetting a PIN), find them in the list, click to edit, make your change, and save — PINs can’t be changed on the terminal itself. Each PIN must be unique so Corksy can attribute sales to the right associate. For the full breakdown, see Admin Users vs. POS Users and How POS Logins Work.
