Updating Passwords

How to update passwords for POS users, admin portal users, and the primary account holder

How you reset a password in Corksy depends on which login it is and who you are.

Important: the admin “Forgot password” link only works for the primary account holder. If you’re any other admin user and enter your email, you’ll see “account not found” — this is expected. You can’t self-reset; your account holder has to reset it for you (steps below).

Admin Portal login

If you’re the primary account holder

Use the Forgot password link on the Admin Portal login page and follow the reset email. If that doesn’t work, email [email protected] — because this is the highest-access account, support will verify your identity before resetting it.

If you’re any other admin user

The Forgot password link won’t work for you (that’s the “account not found” message). To get back in, contact your winery’s Corksy account holder — the person who originally set up Corksy, usually the Store Contact Email under Settings → Store Information — and ask them to reset your password for you.

Already logged in and just want to change your password? You can update it anytime from your profile settings in the Admin Portal.

Resetting another admin’s password (account holder)

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal.

  2. Go to Settings → Admin Users.

  3. Find the user and click to edit their record.

  4. Enter a new password and save, then share it with the user.

The Admin Users menu only appears for roles that include user management. If you don’t see it, you don’t have permission to reset passwords — the account holder needs to do it.

POS user PIN

POS users sign in on the terminal with a 4-digit PIN — not a password. PINs are managed from the Admin Portal, not the POS terminal itself.

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal.

  2. Go to Settings → Point of Sale → POS Users.

  3. Find the user, click to edit, enter a new 4-digit PIN, and save.

If a staff member forgets their PIN, any manager with admin portal access can look it up or reset it here. See How POS Logins Work for more.

Customer / website login

This is separate from admin and POS logins. Customers reset their own password with the Forgot password link on your winery’s storefront login page. Staff can also reset a customer’s password from Customers → Actions → Change Password — see Editing Customers: Info, Addresses, Payments & Passwords.
